Stacking Firewood

Place a few logs of the right size in the stove. To make the fire last longer, you can top off the stack with smaller logs. Stack them perpendicular to the larger logs. Remember to split the large pieces of wood. It’s hard to get a fire started with a whole log.

Stacking kindling

Arrange a large number of kindling in a crisscross pattern on top of the logs. It’s important to leave space between the pieces of wood. Otherwise, the fire will have a harder time catching.

Adjust the air control slider

The air control slider must be fully open when lighting the fire.

Light the fire

Light the fire starters using a long lighter or long matches.

Add logs as needed

Only add logs to the wood stove once the wood from the previous fire has turned to embers. Add new logs to the stove only when the previous ones have burned down completely, not while the fire is burning strongly.
