The A05 alarm appears on MCZ pellet stoves when the flue is blocked or the stove door is open. It is triggered by the pressure switch, which measures the pressure difference in the flue.

Solution

  1. Check that the flue is not blocked and that the stove is not dirty or clogged with combustion residues
  2. Check the condition of the stove door gasket to ensure it is airtight. Place a sheet of paper on the gasket while closing the door. If the paper slides without resistance once the door is closed, the gasket must be replaced
  3. Check that the pressure switch is not obstructed (it is located inside the stove; it may be a small transparent silicone tube connected to a small rounded part, or a sensor mounted directly in the air intake tube; held in place by two screws; be sure to clean off any dust and put it back in place).
  4. Clear the alarm on the control panel by setting the ON-Remote-OFF button on your unit to “OFF” for about ten seconds
  5. Wait until the screen displays “OFF,” then set the selector back to “Remote”
  6. Clean the unit: empty the ashes, clean the firebox, and vacuum
  7. As soon as “OFF” appears on the remote control, you can restart the stove

If these steps do not resolve the issue, a technician will need to be called.
